What to Expect from a Highly Trained Wildlife Expert Visit
After scheduling an appointment with our office, you will be given a 2-hour arrival window for one of our uniformed field service managers. They will arrive on time in a marked vehicle and will conduct a complete and thorough inspection of your home. They will diagnose the type of animal intrusion as well as evaluate entry points and develop an action plan to address the existing problem and prevent future ones.
Expert Guidance
You will be provided with a written inspection report or Animal Entry Worksheet (AEW). Our field service manager will break everything down step-by-step and clearly explain the animal removal and entry point repair process. You will know exactly what is needed for your services and why.
Control Maintenance
If trapping of animals such as squirrels, skunks, or raccoons is required, we will return every day to check the traps and remove any animals caught. In most cases, we set the traps at a point of entry on the outside of your home, so you do not have to be home for any return visits we make.
Status Updates
We will leave a daily status notice to keep you up to date on how many animals we removed and the status of the job. We will carefully monitor the entry points for activity and we will not seal the entry point until we are 100% certain there are no more animals entering your home.
Smart Removal
For mice, we usually set between 20–30 snap traps. We do not use any poison and prefer traps to poison for the safety of children and pets. Traps also greatly reduce the chance an animal will die in the walls and create a foul smell. Traps are set where the mice are most active. This includes basements, attics, accessible crawl spaces, kitchen areas, and any other area where there is evidence of activity.
We take into strong consideration children and pets when deciding on locations for trap placement. We will identify possible points of entry and recommend exclusion repairs on our inspection report (AEW) that would help to keep more mice from entering your home.
The types of repairs we typically perform are:
- Chimney Caps / Screens
- Roof Vent Guards / Covers / Flashing repairs
- Attic Vent Screens / Repairs
- Fan Vent Screens / Guards
- Louvre Vent Screens / Guards
- Leaf-Proof Gutter Guards
- Vent Pipe Guards
- Bird Netting / Exclusion
- Foundation / Deck / Patio / Shed / Garage Exclusion
- Underground Fences
- Fascia / Eave / Gutter Board Repairs
- Deck / Porch Rat Walls
- Animal Entry Holes / Repairs
- Attic Restoration / Insulation Work
- Dryer / Fan Bird Vent Guards
- Solar Panel Screening
Want to ‘Do It Yourself’?
‘Do it yourself’ (DIY) projects can provide a sense of accomplishment and sometimes save money, but dealing with wild animal DIY projects may result in more than you bargained for.
Working on roofs, climbing ladders, and maneuvering in confined spaces can lead to falls or other injuries. Many people lack the know-how and experience of safe ladder use and the implementation of fall-stop and other safety equipment.
Trapping wildlife and animal-proofing can also involve exposure to wildlife related diseases or animal bites, and many wild animals leave infected feces behind. From roundworms to Hantavirus, animal droppings and cleanups can be hazardous as airborne spores can cause respiratory and other health issues.
